Hi, I'm Tancy. I teach machines to read the sleeping brain.
I'm a Senior Research Data Scientist at the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research in Sydney. My models sift through high-density EEG, brain imaging and daily activity data to find the biomarkers that make sleep-disorder diagnosis personal — and I mentor the students doing it with me.

What I work on
Computational models of sleep-disorder neurophysiology, hunting biomarkers in big data.
Forward encoding models that quantify face identity and orientation in the visual cortex.
How visual and spatial skills shape reading ability and second-language learning.
TurtleWave hdEEG
My Python toolkit for high-density EEG sleep analysis — it finds sleep spindles, slow waves, K-complexes and phase–amplitude coupling in large multi-channel recordings, with friendly GUIs for detection and review.
$ pip install turtlewave-hdEEG # then launch a GUI $ turtlewave_gui $ eeg_review_gui
